Douceur

Douceur means “gentleness” and is a style of Urban Kiz that originated in France in 2018.

Characteristics:

• Gentle, slow, flowing movements
• More isolations than steps
• Lots of room for musicality and pauses, with less structure
• Entirely connection-focused, not a show dance
• Often danced close, similar to an embrace

Douceur is not a separate dance style, but a style within Urban Kiz with elements of Tarraxo.

In Düsseldorf, Douceur is not very widespread. You can dance it at Urban Kiz socials to slower songs.
