Douceur
Douceur means “gentleness” and is a style of Urban Kiz that originated in France in 2018.
Characteristics:
- Gentle, slow, flowing movements
- More isolations than steps
- Lots of room for musicality and pauses, less structured
- Completely focused on connection, not a show dance
- Often close, similar to an embrace
Douceur is not its own dance style, but rather a style of Urban Kiz with elements of Tarraxo.
Douceur is not very widespread in Düsseldorf. You can dance it to slower songs at Urban Kiz socials.
